Student Spring Retreat

I am so thrilled to be taking students to one of our first weekends away as a youth group! It has been a WHILE and I am praying for God to move in mighty ways during this weekend. With that being said, I want to make sure you have as many details as possible prior to signing your student up. I will send further details including a packing list and weekend schedule to those attending for sure closer in time.

The retreat is called Convergence or “Converge Students” and is held at Woodlands Camp in Cleveland Georgia. The retreat is designed with students in mind and draws hundreds of students from churches all throughout Northeast Georgia. As with many other retreats your students have attended, the camp will lead sessions including worship, teaching, and small groups. In between the sessions, students will have full access to all the activities Woodlands provides during their free time. Although many churches attend, Creekside students will be staying together in a cluster of cabins so they won’t be staying with people they aren’t familiar with.

The cost for the retreat is $180/student which includes all of their meals, t-shirt and wristband, lodging, and all access to Woodlands activities (aside from paintball). The deadline for registration is February 15th. Students may register after that but at that point, the slots will only be first come, first serve (and the shirt won’t be a guarantee). The registration link is attached below. Please make sure you complete all portions of the registration including the medical/media waiver and release if we don’t currently have one on file for your student. Convergence will have a doctor on-site, however, medications will need to go through me (more on that in the JotForm).

Students need to arrive at the church on March 3rd at 4:45 pm. We will need to have the vans loaded and ready to go no later than 5 pm. I know that middle schoolers don’t get out of school until 4:15 so this will be a major time crunch understandably. I will have sub sandwiches and waters at the church to serve as a snack for students coming straight from school until we make it to camp for dinner. Dinner is served beginning at 6pm so it is imperative we leave on time in order to arrive, unpack, eat, and get to the first session beginning at 7:15 pm. We will be returning to Creekside on Sunday, March 5th at approximately 1 pm. Please plan to pick your student up in the front lot at that time. I will have students text you when we are on our way home so you can have a better ETA.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. I am looking so forward to March 3rd-5th with your students!

P.S. Retreats like this can’t happen without amazing adult chaperones so if you would be interested in knowing more details regarding that please reach out to me at mackenziegirton@creekside.net. Thank you in advance for considering.

In Christ,
