What is God Like?
A Biblical and Theological Exploration of the Attributes of God

Nothing is more central to the discipline of theology than God Himself. During this study, we will seek to gain a deeper understanding of the nature of God. We will reflect on God’s attributes through the lenses of Scripture, tradition, reason, and experience. As a result of this reflection, we will gain a richer view of what God is like and how we relate to Him.

This study will provide the chance to know and understand God more deeply so that we might grow in our love for God, neighbor, and self by teaching us how to:

• Explain in plain language the fundamental attributes of God and cite biblical texts relevant to each.
• Understand more deeply the detailed accounts of those attributes and how those attributes distinguish the Christian view of God from other beliefs about the divine.
• Appreciate how this understanding leads us to deeper worship and love for God, neighbor, and self.
