Children's Christmas Musical Auditions

Ministry
This year’s Creekside Children’s Christmas Musical is December 15!
Auditions for speaking parts and solos for this year's Creekside Children's Musical, “It All Happened in the Country,” will be held Sunday, Aug. 11, in the Discipleship Wing. Kids in grades 3-5 are invited to try out. Actors will need to memorize and perform one of the short monologues from the show below. Soloists should be prepared to sing the chorus of any Christmas song or other song of their choosing. Auditions will take place between 1:30pm and 3:30pm (feel free to come any time during that period).

Here are the monologue choices for the show auditions:
Option 1 (said with a country/Southern accent): Well, we have Christmas out here, too, ya know. ‘Course, we have to order air and sunshine from the catalog, but we do have Christmas! Christmas is a country holiday, ya know. The first Christmas happened in a little ol’ bitty country town… place called Bethlehem. Group up here, youngun’s, and I’ll tell you ‘bout it.
Option 2 (no accent, just regular voice): It’s hard to believe, I guess, that there are people all around us who don’t know the true meaning of Christmas… that it’s about celebrating Jesus’s birthday. Here they were, city slickers, with all their city thinking, not knowing the real Christmas story. It was like a mystery novel or something. The more they heard, the more they wanted to hear.
